Organics, Recycling & Garbage

Household materials should be disposed of in a safe and environmentally friendly way. The collection of organics, recycling, and garbage materials is a service provided by the County of Simcoe, with the exception of the separated cities of Barrie and Orillia. Each community will have a different collection schedule.

The County of Simcoe provides curbside waste collection to residential households with a three cart system:

Recycling Cart (Blue) – including materials and containers like glass bottles and jars, plastics, paper and cardboard.
Organics Cart (Green) – including organic materials such as food waste.
Garbage Cart (Black) – most items not acceptable for blue, or green bin collection.
