Canadian Dental Care Plan
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a Government of Canada funded program designed to help make the cost of dental care more affordable for eligible Canadian residents.
Information for permanent residents
- You don’t have access to dental insurance
- Your adjusted net family income is less than $90,000
- You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes
- You filed your tax return for the previous year
Applications now open for:
- Seniors aged 65 and over
- Children under the age of 18
- Adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate
Applications for all remaining eligible Canadians will begin in 2025.
Services covered under the CDCP include the following (with some services only becoming available in fall 2024):
- preventive services, including scaling (cleaning), sealants, and fluoride;
- diagnostic services, including examinations and x-rays;
- restorative services, including fillings;
- endodontic services, including root canal treatments;
- prosthodontic services, including complete and partial removable dentures;
- periodontal services, including deep scaling; and
- oral surgery services, including extractions.
