English Programs for Adults
There are programs in Simcoe County to help you learn or practice your English. These programs are designed to help you improve your English language skills. It is important to learn what the different programs can provide to you and how they will help you achieve your goals. For example, some programs are designed to help newcomers learn basic conversational English, while other programs are designed to help more advanced English speakers who are looking for a job in a specific occupation.
The programs listed below may have different eligibility requirements and registration processes. They are available at no cost to eligible newcomers. English as a Second Language: Lessons are provided by trained professionals in a classroom setting. Students will improve speaking and listening, reading and writing skills, as well as learn about Canadian culture. The programs are based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks.

Conversation Circles: Conversation Circles focus on learning "conversational English". They provide an opportunity to meet other newcomers in your area and practice English in an informal, comfortable setting. They are guided by a trained professional.
