Housing & Student Residence

International Students have a variety of accommodation options in Simcoe County, which include:

Homestay

Georgian College and Lakehead University partner with Canada Homestay Network Inc. to provide students with the best Homestay experience possible. Based on the information provided on your application form, students are carefully matched to a caring host family who will provide a private bedroom, food for three meals per day and internet access. Homestay is a great way to immerse yourself in Canadian culture and experience Canadian life in a family setting. It offers a lot of opportunity to practise English and improve your language skills. The host family provides a variety of nutritional, well-balanced meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) every day — including weekends. For more information on Homestay please visit the Canada Homestay Network website or get more information on the Lakehead University Homestay website.

Shared Homestay

The student shares a kitchen with the Homestay host. The student buys, prepares and cleans up after his or her own meals. The Homestay host helps the student become familiar with the kitchen, explaining use of equipment as well as where to find grocery stores and cooking supplies. For more information on Homestay please visit the Canada Homestay Network website or get more information on the Lakehead University Homestay website.
